Get off that CAKE!

I shuppose I should let the 5 of you know my current hijinx!  I can't believe I already leave on monday, this break flew by.

Well, I got a phone call last saturday to go and do merch for like 5 dates for Paramore, because their merch guy fell off a bike and smashed his face or something? ouch. I unfortunately had to pass, because monday was the Jonas Brothers, and I wasn't going to miss that.

This time at the JoBro show, I was going to help out Misty and Joyce with their chevy contest, so I got down to Tinley Park around noon. Let me tell you, that ampitheater had a lock down of the entire radius of the place and was quite the feat getting into the venue to park. There were "Jombies" (what they call the crazy fans) EVERYWHERE! It was bizarre!

Got to hang with Joyce, Misty, Benji and Teeter. super sweet. OH when we were eating lunch (or dinner, I don't quite remember) I saw Frankie Jonas, the bonus Jonas. I got excited. Friggin cute lil kid. Joyce and I went on a trip to target to find a "frankie says relax" shirt for the lil dude, but had no luck. The target, by the way, was saturated with Jombies also.

Teeter ran a free photobooth, so we definitely took advantage of that.

eventually It came time for the poster contest. This was probably of the most scary yet entertaining things I've done in a long while. There were far too many people for the time frame, and I had to go to the cut off point and try and explain it to the people not getting judged, which then caused many moms to come over and sway me to just cut it off behind them, or blah blah blah. Some moms were actually very nice, albeit they were ones with kids that got judged. I eventually just peaced and ran back over by misty and joyce to help judge. I tried to do as many as I could as fast as possible and the table got mad swarmed by people waving their posters at us and some started chanting "chevy sucks."  It was rediculous, I don't know how joyce and misty can stand having to deal with that every day. (joyce: i commend you, girl!)
When the time was up and we had to go, security had to escort us through the gate. Joyce actually grabbed my hand and pulled me to go, cuz I'm just to nice and when someone asked me a question I tried to answer it. I will say, most of the questions I got asked this day, I had no idea the answer to. haha!

I got to pick one of the 3 winners and that was fun. It was cute seeing how stoked all the winners were.

anyways, I had a good time helping those ladies out, and and even better time hangin out! I met a lot of new people, and one dude in particular that I think I'm kinda into. We hung out for a very brief time, but we kinda clicked. We've kept in touch these last few days, and it's been pretty sweet. time will tell I suppose.

Today I got my Turbo Jam workout, and I gave it a whirl. boy am I uncoordinated. It's a mix of dance, kickboxing and capoeria. I'm finding it very hard to keep up and keep it straight, but hopefully I'll get better at it.

definite burn feelage

so I will admit, Justin and I did great at our workouts, that is until warped tour started. The fact is that working outside in the heat and sun from 730am until at least 830pm takes a toll and the last thing you want to do is go work out, especially when you prefer to work out in the mornings. I had no way of getting up early to work out early too, because I was always loading in as soon as the bus parked, and sometimes before it got parked. oh well!

So I've restarted my "gladiator training." This time however instead of going back to the level 1-2 p90 discs, I've moved up to the level 3-4. I actually enjoy it more, it flows quicker even though I'm doing more workouts. the "doing as many fast pushups as possible" is still killing me, and now trying to do 200 ab rippers instead of 100 is insane, sometimes I really do think it's gunna make me puke. I love it though and can't wait til I can do all/more in the time frame. I also just ordered "Turbo Jam." kinda stoked on trying that workout too.

I am however in pain! The good kind of pain though, where you know that what you're doing is working, but MAN! woo doggy.

For the two weeks that I'm home I've rented a car, and I ended up with a really pretty and sweet Dodge Caliber. I kinda wish it was actually mine. It's brand new too, only had 1000 miles on it when I got it. I think the Enterprise dude hooked me up cuz I was wearing an MCS shirt and he told me it was a great band, which in turn I told him they was my employers. sweet. It also has Sirius radio in it, which I had never tried out before, and now I'm in love. I think I need to buy myself one now. In love with these channels: Punk, 90's Alternative, First Wave, New Alternative. I haven't even explored through all the channels yet. It's soooo good!

Last night I drove down to Chicago, which by the way if you haven't driven through the annoying construction on I94, it sucks and usually makes me take an extra hour to get into the city. lamesauce.
Anyways, I went down to the sketchy area of Chicago to Reggies Rock Club. I had never been there before and it's actually a sweet little rock club! I went to hang out with my awesomest friend Doug and the rest of his band in the Sleeping. The first band that played is called The Gay Blades and I am now a super fan. They are just two dudes and they rocked it, I seriously recommend checking them out, I hope they blow up. I actually bought 3 of their shirts and a 7-inch. They called me their angel, hehehe. Seriously though. New favorite band.
Losta awesome stuff happened that isnt internet-able, but I will say that you can tell how much someone loves you by the way they hug you. Especially if they havent seen you in a long time.

Now on Sunday I'm going back down to Chicago to the Jonas Bros show. YEAH! Joyce asked me to help her and Misty out and I'm so in, so I actually get to work with them and all the insane screaming girls. stoked! get to see Benji too. Adventure awaits!

note to sun lovers

I forgot to mention in my last post, probably cuz I'm trying to block it from my memory, but the last couple days of warped tour I got Sun Poisoning. it sucked. I was itchy and burny. I had to actually wear sleeves, and y'all know I love my tanks.
this is Just a reminder to wear a ton of sunblock!!!!

ok I guess I'm back

trying to catch up on my finish work and going through my bills and other nonsense. One good thing I got in the mail was a $230 refund from my oral surgan, looks like my insurance paid more out. yay! paying $300 a year for dental insurance is definitely worth it. My wisdom tooth surgery cost $1600 and I only had to pay $450. Not too shabby!

So warped tour is over. It was a little slower than expected/wanted, but you never know how it's going to be. Things that were awesome about warped...
Steve as my assistant, he rules, simple as that.
seeing the Vandals play, they're my favorite to dance to.
Reel Big Fish, always loved them, always will.
the Aggrolites dance party after show in mountain view. SOO much fun.
Bro-town. This summer I moved out of Friendville and into Bro-town. Most people don't realize that there are a lot of cliques on warped tour. I'm happy to say I was the only girl in Bro-town.
half gallon of gin on the FFTL bus for only Derek and me.
writing my phone number on RBF dry erase board in their bus more than once.
getting to see The Dollyrots.
seeing old friends and making new ones.
"BEAT IT!"  quote of the summer.

oh another thing I would like to note is that I am always getting guff for liking ska, yet Tony and Justin watched Oreskaband play almost every day and their horns even played on stage with mcs, not to mention the dudes requested to aaron barrett to play Trendy. I didn't even know that they knew RBF song titles. I do believe it's impossible to hate ska, sure some kinds of ska, but not all. oh and I'm happy that I introduced Scott and Justin, cuz I think they are rather similar, both like smart conversation and have strange ideas and both are sober now.

Now I'm trying to figure out what to do after Oct 3, because mcs isn't gunna tour again til like april. UGH! I've got a couple leads, but nothing set in stone yet.
