fix yer iphone voicemail

For anyone who has had their visual voicemail broken since the 3.1 update try this solution. I do not know if this will work outside of AT&T.

So the problem seems to be that if you installed the hacked ipcc file (either through help.benm.at or manually uploading the file through iTunes) and then updated to 3.1, not only would the 3.1 update disable the tethering/mms, but it would also corrupt the carrier file, therefore breaking visual voicemail. I have tried every method out there including resetting the network settings, removing Profile settings, restoring my iPhone (seven restores including a downgrade to 3.0) as well as spent more than four hours on the phone with AT&T and Apple but to no avail. Here is what finally worked for me. And for those interested, this was done on my iPhone 3GS 3.1OS.

1. Perform a system restore on your iPhone.
2. After the restore, choose the option to setup as a NEW iPhone.
3. Perform a “Restore from Backup…” in iTunes (in iTunes, right click on your iPhone and select Restore from Backup…)
4. Open safari on your iPhone and navigate to http://help.benm.at/generator.php
5. Enter wap.cingular in the APN field for both Mobile Internet and Visual Voicemail. Leave the rest of the fields BLANK and click GENERATE!.
6. When the Install Profile page opens, click Install and the then Install Now on the confirmation warning.
7. After it finished install, go back to your home screen.
8. Perform a HARD RESET by holding down the Lock and Menu buttons (power and home buttons)until the iPhone reboots and the Apple logo appears on the screen.

You should now have visual voicemail AND mms working on your 3.1 updated iPhone! I understand the frustration of the whole process and sincerely hope this works for you!

I love Twitter, I find it to be a fun large open forum to gab with my friends. Until recently I've always enjoyed sharing my location. Now I can't really unless it's the venue we are playing at, due to the safety of the band I'm currently working for. It's pretty crazy! For example, once we went to go see a movie and we all tweeted that we were seeing said movie. When we walked out there were several kids waiting for the movie to end so they could meet the band.
Yesterday we had a day off in a random city in Louisiana. We all went to IHOP for breakfast, and again all tweeted that we were eating pancakes. Before we even got our food, a waitress comes over with their house phone asking if one of us was "lead singer". So she takes the phone and it's 2 fan girls that have been calling every IHOP in the area until they found her. They wanted to come down and meet the band.
This is so bizarre to me!

Currently I am on tour with Hey Monday and having a wonderful time. I love these kids. They're extremely fun and super fun to watch perform.
I've actually had some free time to work on art projects, hooray! I've drawn 2 drumheads already and hope to do several more. Here's the 2 already done.

completely obsessed

hi blog! it's me beth, remember me?

i got home from the fall out boy tour a few days ago. i've never worked so hard and had so much fun on tour ever all together. I'm sad its over.

I'm newly in love with all time low and their crew. totally legit dudes and super fun.

so is everyone on the fob team.

actually everyone on the tour was legit. even by the end of tour, gabe and i weren't battling it out. he's a smart dude, and might have won me over for the most part.

im home now til early june and then I'm going out for a month and a half with Hey Monday. playing at tons of timy clubs that I havent been to in yeeeeeears. its going to be fun. and easy.

then that goes straight into me going back out with Fall Out Boy for another month on the Blink 182 tour. that's going to a blast I'm sure. this summer is gunna be great.

I was actually just checking out who the opener on that tour is, Chester French, and I'm newly obsessed with them. sooooo good. totally not what I expected them to sound like. I might be in love!
