here ya go Stephanie!

my favorite sangria recipe by Rob, hopefully he wont mind me posting this! :)

Sangria!!!!

1 Gal Carlo Rossi Burgundy Wine
1 Bottle Triple-Sec (750 ml)
1 Bottle Sour Mix (750 ml)
1 Liter 7-Up
The Juice of 4 Lemons (don’t get lazy, squeeze that shit fresh. No bottled juice!)

Strain the lemon pits before you add the juice. I use a martini shaker. It works great.
Add sliced fruit if you like (oranges, apples, peaches, strawberries, what ever you like, but let them soak up the goodness for a while. Trust me, it’s worth the wait!)
Pour it all together
Get some ice,
Get some friends,
Get on the porch,
Get Drunk!!

If you don’t want to make the big batch just use the ratio:
4 parts wine
1 part Triple-Sec
1 part Sour mix
1 part 7-Up
some lemon juice

Enjoy!
Rob

I'm loving this album right now

kids of america

Man, so the last coule weeks I've been feeling pudgy, for due reason, the scale said I weighed like 5 lbs more than normal. Confused at why, thought it had to have been all the steak Ive been eating lately... hehe.
But after investigation because a few days ago I started feeling normal again, I found out that it was because of the antibiotics I had been taking. My ankle infection cleared up basically the next day after getting my shots and medicine, but I followed the rules and took the medication all the way too the end. turns out thats what caused me to retain water or whatever happened. What a bummer! anyways, I'm done with the antibiotics and back on track. Havent done my pilates yet, though I am going to start tonight. I have been using the wii fit daily however. Don't knock it! when you do the right exercises, A definite sweat is broken, and the hear rate risen. The 10 minute boxing aerobics and the long distance run are probably my favorite. hula hooping of course too. The yoga excerises are great too because it tells you if youre not distributing your weight evenly. same with the strength exercises. I back it.

also working on re-unlocking everything on mario kart wii. I''m getting there. such a bummer to going from almost everything unlocked on the band wii, to starting from scratch at home.
Dr Mario on the wii is also rockin'. yet to play matty online yet though. gotta get on that.

I just watched Guillermo Del Toro's "The Orphanage" last night. I'm rather a fan on mr Del Toros work. I love Hellboy and Pan's Labrynth. The Orphanage was really good. I may have to buy it. Speaking of Hellboy, have you seen the previews for Hellboy 2? I cant wait!! Is it weird I kinda have a little crush on Hellboy? not ron perlman that plays Hellboy, but Hellboy. I dunno why.

Getting closer

Time to count crap in Minneapolis. Change of plans though on my transport home, jp realized he'd have to do a lot of driving and has opted to stay back. Therefore I am back to riding the bus down to Racine. Ahhhhh I can't wait to just be home.

(Sent from my iBanana)

day one we'd go fishing

ahhh, day 2 drive day is over and back into minneapolis.
I spent most of the drive today packing things up and realizing I had acquired way too much junk.  Seriously! I need to stop buying things, especially big things, like shoes and the wii fit. the wii fit is one heavy chunk of plastic. Although I did get a sweet carrying case for it.

I've kinda been stressed today because I was trying to rent a car to drive home tomorrow and for some reason no car of any type is available anywhere for one way. it's rediculous and I don't understand why. If someone knows, I would love to hear the reason.

Tomorrow I have to do full inventory of all the old merch we have. bwah bwah bwaaahhhhh. lame. I was gunna have to rush and do it super fast, because due to my lack of finding a way home, I was going to just ride the bus down to racine. However, now Peener has offered to roadtrip and drive me home and back. Super rad!!!  Come to think of it, of the 6 years i've known him, I think I've only once been in a vehicle that he was driving. yikes!  So I will bust out the video camera and film our adventures. Maybe will will stop at a cheese house or two, who knows!

side note, has anyone noticed me giving them one of my stamped dollars?

i stamp dollars

I will keep stamping and keep handing them out.

almost home and almost back to cuddlin with my kitties!

yikes

right now I'm watching BBC America and there's a show on right now called Britain's Worst Teeth.
And yikes it's disturbing.
look it up sometime.

guess who! Burt Reynolds?

boy oh boy do I have a lot to catch up on.

Seattle:
I had a good time in Seattle.  My sister in law, Katie, now lives out near seattle because my brother was stationed out there. She's only been there a couple weeks, so I let her know I was in town if she wanted to hang. She did come out and it was a jolly good time.
Portland:
I don't really remember anything cool about portland, except  I think it was the night of the Special K debauchery. Oh yeah it was Sangria night!
All I gotta say is when Tony and Jesse are drunk, they are 2 of the funniest people ever. Somehow it was brought to attention that we had 7 boxes of special K on the bus and no one knows who even likes the stuff.

Special k debauchery
so It was thought to be a good idea to make a wall of special k inside the curtain of brians bunk. (note: brian was already in bed)
brian ended up getting up and didnt mention anything of the boxes. time goes by and eventually me, tony and jesse head to bed. Turns out that Brian put the boxes under jesses mattress. Then somehow some ended up under tonys mattress, and a box ended up in my bunk, then tony and jesse piled on top of me in my bunk and tried to get a 4rth person in there, but tony ended up farting in jesses mouth (gross) and the bunk evacuated quickly. It was hilarious. You had to be there.

Reno:
2 days in Reno was definitely plenty. I lost too much money. However the venue was cool backstage, there were tons of props everywhere. I had planned to take pics with lots of em, but only ended up taking pictures with some xmas trees

Reno

Las Vegas:
3 day in vegas is not good. I did pretty good at not gambling too much this time, but I definitely went shopping and bought some sweet stuff. I got an amazing leopard print dress at the Bettie Page store and some rad new heels. I actually had a pretty good time hanging out in vegas.

Anaheim:
last day of tour. It was also the biggest show of the tour. I didnt do too much because there were venue sellers, but as we were waiting in the dressing room for catering to start, people started to go crazy, especially justin. I think it's because he was really excited to go home. the dressing room was in a hockey locker room so there were the wooden locker things all over the room. jp decided to crawl into one.

Peeny in the box
then I tried to give it a whirl

DSC01957.JPG

then catering time came and the food was awesome!! especially the dessert

Yum!

as I went to check up on merch I ran into Robb and Patrick from Limbeck. that was an awesome surprise!
I also ran into some of the Plain White T's dudes.  I love running into friends randomly.

right after the dudes finished playing, they peaced to fly home. so the bus was very quiet last night. Merch count out took way longer than it shouldve, and made me loose out on time spent saying bye to my new friends from the tour. At least I got to say bye to the ones that mattered to me most.

Now it's just brian and me on the bus travelling to minneapolis. we drove all day to Cheyenne,WY. that's where we are spending the next few hours, for another day long drive tomorrow. whoopie! I will be home very soonish!

I'll be home for almost 3 weeks and have a pretty full schedule!
June 26 - They Might Be Giants at Summerfest
June 27- Wisdom Teeth appt
June 29- Jack's Mannequin at Summerfest! (PJ!!!)
June 30- Dollyrots at Summerfest!
July 2- Big D and LTJ at the Congress!!!
July 3- wisdom teeth out (yay and boo)
July 4- I want to see Big D and LTJ at Summerfest, but I may not be able to due to wisdom teeth
July 5- Lil Bro's wedding..... also Cheap Trick at Summerfest!
July 6- Jonas Brothers at Summerfest!! (EEEEEEEeeeeee! and Benji!)
July 9- Alaska for tour.

I'm crossing my fingers that my wisdom teeth removal will be easy and not cause any problems, I don't want it to not let me go to alaska. that's the only state I havent been to yet.

on anoher note, Peeny and I are gunna work on a project with some help from matt, and Im pretty stoked on it. it'll be fun.

Day old pizza with grape jelly

Day old pizza with grape jelly, originally uploaded by bethraebel.

peener has the appetite of a pregnant woman. As I sit here eating buttered toast, peener grabs a slice of day old pizza that's sitting out and slathers grape jelly on it. He's basically a vacuum for anything edible, no matter what it is.
gross.

walking in a straight line

IMG_0311.JPG, originally uploaded by bethraebel.

I love the colors in this photo. good job Jim!

I just realized that some of the emails that I get sent telling me that I have comments are getting sent to my junk email box. totally whack, cuz I'm too lazy to go check myself. Therefore I apologize for not responding to any comments, though I definitely read them. I'm hardly ever on my computer during tour unless I'm doing merch work. so most of my internetting and blarghing is from my iphone.
Just sayin', i'd love to respond to all comments if it was easier to do from my phone. I get way impatient. much as a dog does when it smells food.

speaking of food, I am eating way too much on this tour and rather unhealthy at that. once i get back home, straight back to my daily 2 hour workouts and high protein diet.

speaking of home, I just reminded myself that I need to make an appointment to get these darnded wisdom teeth out. I've got this weird lump on my jaw that when I poke it it makes my tooth feel very bizarre. that can't be good. man, one of these days I'm going to stop complaining about my ailments.

speaking of bizarre, yesterdays day off in middle of nowhere, oregon was weird. it was a casio resort surrounded by nothing, full of old people. everything was extremely cheap. For a while I was up $100 but ended up being down. The workers at the resort saw the Civic tour bus, that is covered flowers and says Panic at the DIsco on the side, and assumed that we were panic at the disco. therefore they reserved us a table up front for their first ever "comedy jam."
it was rediculous, most of the jokes were local about oregon, so they didnt make any sense to us, but we laughed anyways.

speaking of covered in flowers, we are in vancouver today. oh canada. i love your candy.

speaking of today, I'm waiting for the dudes to finish up with their signing so we can play UNO!!!!

I think I'm missing something

I wish i really didn't suck at responding to emails like I do. Today one of the managers calls to catch up on like 5 emails he sent that I havent responded. I dont know what my problem is. So seriously if you need to get something from me, your best bet is to call me. Balls I have a one track mind.

Have I ever mentioned how hard it is to type on an iPhone while laying in your bunk while the bus is moving and also a slight sangria buzz? Its very frustrating. I'm trying to type ledgibly.

I can't remember anything cool about the Denver show yesteday except for a fan friend named Liz bought us the flight of the conchords record. That was sweet. Also I had venue sellers and I dont mind that break sometimes.

Today was the good ol dump of saltair in magna, ut. Bleh. That's all I have to say about today. Plus it was cold and rainy, two major bummers.

Man, rob with the civic crew makes the best sangria. Kinda gets me drunk fast though, and apparently I get real funny. Tasty stuff, we have a day off with them civic folks tomorrow in pendleton,Oregon. Its gunna be fun!
Casino resort. Sounds thrilling.

Yeah not much exciting to talk about. Out of the many contenders for my merch assistant job thus summer on warped, I do believe I may have found one. Hooray!

Ok, bedtime. Muah!

Sorry cara, no peg leg this time.

Yesterday waking up in Kansas city was a slow one, because I could hear the faint patter of rain on the bus. Always a bum out, especially on a day off. Then all of a sudden the loudest thunder happened outside our bus, and immediately from experiences with near by lightning and electrocution, I threw any thing plugged in my bunk far away from me.

Luckily the rain pretty much stopped around 1 pm, around when matt got up, cuz he was the nice one to go with me to the doctor, cuz they make me anxious. It ended up that they didn't exactly know what caused my pain and swelling in my ankle, it was either and infection from the cut or a spider bite.
The doctor asked me when the last time I had a tetanus shot was, and since it was 8 years ago, I had to get one. Sucks! So the doctor leaves and says she's gunna "prepare all my goodies" and matt and I discuss if she forgot about the shot. Alas she did not. The nurse came in and told me it had to go in my butt cheek. I said " what the heck! The last time I got one it was in my arm!"
Matt immediately left the room. Hahaha.
She told me it was gunna sting, I said no worries, I'm not afraid of needles, I'll just pretend like I'm getting a tattoo. Then she starts telling me that its a pretty painful shot and that there is a numbing agent in it to make it hurt less. That kinda freaked me out. In the end (literally) she jabbed me and it really didn't hurt at all. Just felt a little bizarre.
The nurse was just leaving the room and as she was just out the door she said " ok now for the tetanus shot." I said "seriously!?!" in all hopes she was joking. So I was left there in the room by myself, giving myself anxiety thinking about if she was reAlly coming back with another shot or not. About 4 minutes later she comes back with another syringe and jabs it into my arm. Sucks again!
So all in all my hospital experience was lame, but at least today I feel not really any pain, but my foot is still swollen. Could also be because of the pain reliever meds I get to take also, but whatevs.

Later on that night I was thinking of just staying in, cuz the drugs make me sleepy, but I was starting to get hungry again and went along with claudio, tony, Joyce, Jesse, and pavan to the Melting Pot. Now that was a delicious experience. I hope to go back there soon. I think the dessert fondue was my favorite part.

Tell me that you wanna know

Yesterday I had a blast in council bluffs, Iowa. It was super hot and I got to be outside all day. The venue people were awesome about joy riding with me in the golf carts. At one point after the show was over, Adam and the venue people took a plastic banner, that he first tried to use as a slip and slide, (mind you we were on the top of a steep hill) but that was proving unsuccessful. Therefore they looped the banner to the back of the gator cart creating a sort of slingshot like apparatus. Then Adam sat in a box on the ground and wrapped the banner around him and they dragged him behind the cart. Think tubing, yet on land. It was hilarious.

I also rocked a sweet outfit. Some black cotton overall shorts by American apparel and a bandeau top. The panic crew people named it my hottie farmer outfit. Ha! I may have a picture tomorrow.

The after party was great. There were actually 2 big hang circles happening, the biggest outside my bus where there was a huge sing a long happening. I opted to go to the civic bus party though, mainly influenced by the fact that rob had made sangria. I looove sangria. I also drank a lot of it and it made me extra silly apparently. I can't really explain, but I did become friends with a few more people on the tour that I havent yet. Figures, its always the last 2 weeks when you become friends.

Today we are in kansas city, we are actually staying here for tomorrow also. I was walking back from the hotel and crossed paths with many a homeless folk, and one in particular was infatuated with my hair and insisted on touching it, then he tried to smell it and I ran away. Creepers.

By the by, my ankle is totally infected. Its hurts like a mutha and is badly swollen. I have to go to the doctor tomorrow because its serious. What the heck is wrong with me and infections on this tour, first my tooth and then I had SARS and now this. Balls man! Matt is being nice and going with me to the doctor because I'm scared to go by myself. I was supposed to go to the waterpark with tony and Joyce, but now that's outta the question.

I'll let ya know tomorrow if I end up with a peg leg.
